Here are links to the closest Tourist Offices : they are much more informative than I can ever hope to be !

Lathuile is just above the South end of the "Lac d'Annecy"- the purest lake in Europe -, with Annecy at the other end, 15 km away. The lake (known as the "silver lake"), Annecy ("the Venice of the Alps") and all the villages surrounding it are one of the most beautiful and charming alpine settings you will find.
Sport lovers will find a large choice of activities all year around. In winter, skiing or snowboarding, if preferred, is just 20 km away; the rest of the year, you can enjoy hiking (you can leave from our house), cycling (a cycling trail all the way to Annecy is 1 km away), paragliding (the Col de la Forclaz in front of our windows is a well-known spot), golf (two golf-clubs are less than 10 km from here), and in summer, all the water sports : the lake is 23°, and perfect for bathing and sailing, or, higher up, canyoning. Also, the area abounds in natural reserves  the first one is 2 km from our house.
Annecy is a enchanting historical town  you will find interesting museums, old passageways along the canals between lovingly restored Italian renaissance houses, - but Annecy is a also an artistic center and a lively place : festivals of all sorts, concerts, sport competitions succeed each other almost all year around. Further away, Chamonix-Mont Blanc is a possible day-excursion.
It is also to be noted that very many restaurants are to be found all around the lake  you can choose from the whole scale from simple local food (mostly based on cheese) to "three star" Chef's cooking.
Further away, Chamonix-Mont Blanc is a possible day-excursion.
